Lanmar #585-5 is a 5 mil high modulus ptfe film tape with a silicone adhesive. High modulus PTFE film is biaxially oriented for improved tensile strength and dimensional stability compared to standard PTFE film, while retaining full PTFE chemical resistance and dielectric properties.
The silicone adhesive provides strong, stable tack across the full operating range, bonding securely to metal, glass, PTFE, and most industrial substrates. Rated from -100 to +500°F. Dielectric strength: 16000V. Insulation Class 180.
Specifications: 5 mil PTFE film / 6 mil total thickness. Break strength: 45 lb/in. Elongation: 150%. Adhesion: 35 oz/in.
Common applications include electrical insulation wrapping, precision masking on metal components, anti-friction surface liners, and chemical-resistant covering. Supplied in roll form. Available custom slit to width.
